  2. Send the photo

Shoot the card flat, in good light, with no glare. Add a line or a voice note about what they need and when.

  3. Get the contact and the draft

The contact is saved and you get a follow-up draft with Call, Send email and Send WhatsApp buttons.

International numbers

Cards from overseas visitors carry codes such as +86 or +971. Check the number is saved with its country code, so WhatsApp can dial it.

How do I check a card scanner for accuracy and privacy?

Test it on 20 of your own cards, not the sample in the demo, and ask the provider four plain questions about your data.

  • Every email matches the card, with no "rn" read as "m"
  • Mobile and landline land in separate fields
  • A two-sided card becomes one contact, not two
  • A photo taken at an angle still reads, or you are asked for a better one
  • You know where card photos and contacts are stored, and for how long
  • You can delete a contact and its photo
  • The tool never messages your contacts by itself

A visiting card is personal data under India's DPDP Act. SuperBound collects only what it needs to follow up, never messages your contacts, and deletes data on request. See our privacy policy. This is general guidance, not legal advice.

How is SuperBound different from a card scanner app?

A card scanner saves the contact. SuperBound saves it and then helps you get the reply. Scanner apps such as CamCard are more mature and connect to more CRMs.

What is the best way to scan a stack of cards at an event?

Scan each card at the booth, straight after the conversation, with a short note. A stack scanned at the hotel at midnight has lost its context.

  1. Brief the team. Everyone who collects cards sends them, rather than handing a pile to one person at the end of the day.
  2. Send the back too if it has any extra detail.
  3. Add context straight away. Five words help: "wants pricing, decides in November".
  4. Check the first few results, especially email and mobile.
  5. Keep the paper cards in an envelope per day until every contact is confirmed.
  6. Follow up within 24 to 48 hours, while they still remember your stand. Our follow-up email templates can help.

Business card scanner FAQ

How do I scan a business card on WhatsApp?

Save the SuperBound number, open the chat, and send a clear photo of the card. SuperBound reads the details, saves the contact to your phone contacts, or your team's CRM or Google Sheet, and replies in the same chat with a follow-up draft.

Is there an app to scan business cards into contacts?

Yes, many, but most need a separate install. With SuperBound you use WhatsApp, which is already on your phone. Individuals get the contact in their phone or Google Contacts, and teams get it in HubSpot, Salesforce or a Google Sheet.

What details does it read from a card?

Name, job title, company, email, phone numbers, website and address. SuperBound then fills gaps such as company details and LinkedIn, where available, and attaches your note.

Can it read both sides of a card?

Yes. Send the front and back as two photos in a row and SuperBound combines them into one contact. This helps with cards that print English on one side and Hindi or a regional language on the other.

Is it safe to send card photos to a WhatsApp scanner?

Ask any provider where card data is stored, how long it is kept and how to delete it. SuperBound collects only what it needs to save the contact and help you follow up, never messages your contacts, and deletes data on request. This is general guidance, not legal advice.

What happens after the card is scanned?

This is where SuperBound differs from a plain scanner. It writes the follow-up email and WhatsApp message, gives you one-tap buttons to send them, and alerts you when the contact opens the page you shared.

Does it work for a whole sales team?

Yes. Every team member sends cards to the same SuperBound number, and each contact is saved with the person who met them, so it is clear who follows up.
