SuperBound vs card scanners, digital cards and badge apps
An honest look at the tools people in India use to save and follow up on the contacts they meet. Including where the others do a better job than we do.
Last checked: 20 October 2026
What is the difference, in short?
Most of these tools help you swap or save contact details. SuperBound starts there and puts its effort into what happens next: the follow-up message, a page for the contact, and an alert when they open it.
SuperBound is also the newest and smallest option here. It is in early access, built for India, and needs WhatsApp. The others have been around longer and connect to more tools.
How do they compare?

|---|---|---|---|---|---|

CamCard or another card scanner app
Choose CamCard if you mainly want to scan and organise a large stack of cards, you need a mature app with team sharing and Excel export, or your company runs on Microsoft Dynamics or SugarCRM, which SuperBound does not connect to.
Choose SuperBound if saving the card is not your problem and following up is. You want to skip installing another app, keep everything in WhatsApp, and get a draft, a page for the contact and an alert when they open it.
A digital business card: HiHello, Blinq or Popl
Choose a digital card if you want to share your own details by tapping an NFC card or your phone, show a polished profile, add a card to Apple or Google Wallet, or capture contacts with no signal. HiHello and Blinq both have free plans, and their team plans connect to HubSpot and Salesforce.
Choose SuperBound if the people you meet in India still hand you paper visiting cards, and you want each of those contacts followed up. SuperBound has no NFC card, so many people will be better served using a digital card to share and SuperBound to follow up.
An event badge-scan app
Choose a badge-scan app if you exhibit at a large show that offers one. It reads the attendee badge, pulls in registration details a visiting card does not carry, and can keep leads on the device until you are back on Wi-Fi. The organiser usually sells the licence for that event.
Choose SuperBound if you go to many events, including meetups and expos with no badge system, and want one way to capture and follow up across all of them. Many exhibitors in India collect both badges and visiting cards, so the two can sit side by side.
Doing it by hand
Choose the phone camera and a spreadsheet if you meet a handful of people a month. It costs nothing, works offline, and you stay in full control.
Choose SuperBound if the typing pile grows faster than you clear it, or follow-ups slip a week while the cards sit in your bag.
What are SuperBound's limits?
SuperBound is a new product, and it does not suit everyone yet:
- It is in early access, so features are still being added.
- It is built for India first, around how people here use WhatsApp.
- You need WhatsApp and an internet connection. There is no offline mode.
- There is no NFC card and no digital card for sharing your own details.
- CRM sync covers HubSpot, Salesforce and Google Sheets today. Other CRMs are not connected yet.
- It does not read event badges.
If those limits are fine for you, see how SuperBound works or the WhatsApp business card scanner.

Comparison questions
Is SuperBound a replacement for CamCard?
For saving cards, partly. Both read paper visiting cards. CamCard is a mature app with a longer list of CRM connections. SuperBound runs on WhatsApp with no app to install, and adds the follow-up draft, a personal page for each contact and an alert when they open it.
Does SuperBound have an NFC business card?
No. If you want to tap your phone or a card to share your details, a digital business card such as HiHello, Blinq or Popl is the better choice. You can use one of those to share your details and SuperBound to follow up on the cards you collect.
Can SuperBound replace the badge scanner at a trade show?
Not fully. Badge-scan apps read the event badge and pull in registration details that a visiting card does not carry. SuperBound reads visiting cards. Many exhibitors in India collect both, so the two can work side by side.
